Agronomy Account Manager Opportunity
Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a skilled Agronomy Account Manager to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania.
As an Agronomy Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships with key clients in the region, providing superior agronomic advice and inputs with a focus on horticulture agronomy and crop monitoring.
You will share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting crop production, perform soil testing and study other factors affecting production in order to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations to improve quality and yield.
The crop list grows every year with farmers looking to diversify, so we offer a great opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of horticulture/broadacre cropping.
You will conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers, and work collaboratively with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising and sales performance.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with key clients in the region
- Provide superior agronomic advice and inputs with a focus on horticulture agronomy and crop monitoring
- Share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting crop production
- Perform soil testing and study other factors affecting production to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations
- Conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers
- Work collaboratively with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising and sales performance
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for Australian agriculture, demonstrating a solid understanding of products and production systems ideally with some exposure to horticulture/broadacre cropping.
You will also demonstrate the following:
- Strong technical knowledge in agronomic practices and application
- A minimum 2-3 years building enduring and successful partnerships with customers, delivering appropriate agronomic advice and services
- A history of success in executing sales outcomes using your specialist knowledge of fertiliser, seed and chemical products and application applicable to those crops grown in the central highlands
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills
- A driver's licence and a forklift licence would be advantageous
