Lead Payroll Officer

Warrikal is a Western Australian owned and operated, multidiscipline engineering company across the mining, marine and resource sectors.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Payroll Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in West Perth.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the fortnightly company payroll and ensuring our legislative requirements are being met (including payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation contributions).
Key Responsibilities:
- Process fortnightly payruns for both staff and workforce personnel
- Accurately maintain payroll data and records within our current and future payroll systems
- Verify and validate payroll related information received from our project sites
- Proactive engagement with our business unit Managers for payroll related reconciliations
- Provide timely support and responses for our employees when questions or queries are raised regarding pay
- Coordinate and process superannuation, payroll tax, worker compensation and PAYG lodgments
- Provide technical advice relating to payroll legislation, including Australian Taxation and Super Guarantee legislation
- Offer guidance and support in all matters related to payroll processing
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Payroll Officer who has:
- Previous experience in a senior or lead payroll position with broad exposure to a range of payroll related systems
- Able to prioritise tasks and demonstrate good time management skills, particularly relating to strict deadlines
- Very strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- An openminded approach to people, with the ability to work with various stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously within your discipline, but able to work within a team sharing team tasks when required
