Lead Substation Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Substation Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality designs for HV/EHV substations and will be responsible for leading the design team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical clearances, layout, and equipment arrangement, as well as excellent communication skills. They will also be able to work closely with other disciplines to ensure clash-free, optimized designs.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead primary substation design up to 500kV, including layout, equipment arrangement, and electrical clearances
  • Perform design calculations
  • Develop complete design packages including BOMs and technical specs for HV equipment
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure clash-free, optimised designs
  • Review system studies

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Primary Engineer on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
  • CPEng or working towards it
  • Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
