Electrical Design Expert – High Voltage Systems

We play a crucial role in connecting electricity generators through our transmission network to the distribution network that powers homes and businesses. The Intermediate Design Engineer plays a critical role in delivering high-quality design solutions for high voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review high voltage designs in accordance with Australian and IEC standards, as well as technical requirements.
  • Complete detailed design calculations including short circuit forces, conductor sizing, lightning protection studies.
  • Investigate and implement innovative design solutions to meet project and business needs.
  • Review high voltage external designs to ensure quality and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in high voltage design across all functional areas of transmission network substations.
  • Specialized expertise in a range of technical processes and procedures related to substation design.
  • Skilled in completing and reviewing project designs in collaboration with external consultants.
  • Proficient in engineering business systems and design software, preferably Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation.
