Job Description

This position is part of our Fixed Plant Service team at Karratha Service Centre, where you will work on an 8/6 roster and reside in Karratha. Candidates must have full working rights in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete safety inductions and procedures before commencing tasks.
  • Mark out and off structural fabrication and shapes according to specifications.
  • Prepare material for bending, drilling, or machining after dressing.
  • Assemble and weld parts based on technical drawings and route sheets.
  • Repair, replace, modify, and fabricate using appropriate tools and welding techniques.
  • Perform welding tasks as required.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools as necessary.
  • Draw and interpret sketches relevant to the job.
  • Operate forklifts/cranes when shifting and loading equipment.
  • Assist in on-the-job training when needed.
  • Dismantle, replace, and assemble engineering components during general fabrication activities.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections at third-party vendors to ensure repairs/project works meet our standards.
Requirements
  • Boilermaker Trade Certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Significant boiler making experience.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, technical drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Complete weld test FCAW.
