Expertise in Radiation Oncology Nursing

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at GenesisCare, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing radiation oncology treatment.

About the Role

  • As a Registered Nurse in our Radiation Oncology centre, you will be part of a close-knit team delivering best practice services, working closely with multidisciplinary staff to provide an exceptional patient experience.
  • You will be responsible for providing excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met, and undertaking direct patient care including education, wound management, and drug administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • A key aspect of this role is effectively managing nursing patient load, facilitating effective communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff, and providing feedback as relevant.
  • You will also be expected to liaise with co-located St. Vincent's Campus - Private and Public Hospital nursing staff, ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated, and actioned, and monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • In addition, you will ensure medication management protocols are followed, establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool, comply with patient handover procedures, and demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility.
Benefits Package
  • A competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Minimum two years postgraduate experience.
  • Preferred oncology background or knowledge; however, training will be provided in Radiation Oncology nursing.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers.
  • Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate the clinical management of care.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and show commitment to continuing professional development.
