Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our close-knit team in Radiation Oncology at GenesisCare, located in Darlinghurst.

About the Role

This is a part-time or full-time opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years post-graduate experience to deliver best practice services in Radiation Oncology Nursing. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring their physical and psychological needs are met through education, wound management, and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • Effectively manage nursing patient loads, facilitating effective communication among healthcare professionals.
  • Liaise with co-located St. Vincent's Campus - Private and Public Hospital nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines aligned with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • Comply with medication management protocols and establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR tools.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Current and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • A minimum two-year post-graduate experience.
  • Preferred oncology background or knowledge, but training will be provided in Radiation Oncology nursing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy for patients and their carers.
  • Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and coordinate patient care.
