The role of After-hours Nurse Manager Grade 3 plays a pivotal part in the operational management of after hours at Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service. This position requires leadership skills, clinical expertise and exceptional communication abilities to ensure smooth patient flow and effective clinical escalation.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee operational management after hours, providing professional guidance and clinical leadership to staff.
- Collaborate with teams, services and organisations to deliver optimal patient care.
- Support executive, nursing unit managers and patient flow coordinators in daily activities.
- Participate in strategic planning, project development and continuous improvement of practice standards and services.
- Assume rostered Executive On Call duties for after-hours and weekends.
- Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Extensive post-registration experience in mental health nursing with management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to undertake clinical service planning, change management and financial management.
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Injury Management associated with acute mental health service.
- Understanding of and commitment to consumer and carer consultation and participation in service planning and delivery.
- Sound knowledge of Performance Management and Industrial Relations Processes.
- Computer literacy and current NSW unrestricted drivers licence.
