Supply Chain Director

About the Role:

This is a pivotal leadership position that drives transformation, delivers cost savings, and builds structure across the supply chain function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping how the business manages freight, logistics, and supply to support sustainable growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function with responsibility for warehousing, 3PL, logistics, and freight management.
  • Develop and execute strategies to reduce costs through negotiation and operational improvement.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier and logistics contracts to secure competitive rates and improve service delivery.
  • Establish robust processes and structures to provide accurate visibility of freight and true landed costs from all international and domestic markets.
  • Ensure supply chain performance and suppliers are held accountable for damages, delays, or inefficiencies.
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders including trading, value-add/processing, and customer service to ensure supply aligns with business needs.
  • Drive transformation projects to optimise warehouse layouts, throughput, and pick accuracy.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to existing supply chain staff, building career pathways for the team.
Requirements:
  • Proven senior leadership experience within supply chain, logistics, or operations, ideally in the food, FMCG, or distribution sectors.
  • A strong background in managing chilled or short shelf-life supply chains, with an understanding of the unique challenges compared to ambient/long shelf-life products.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver significant cost savings and commercial outcomes through contract negotiation and operational improvement.
  • Experience managing 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and warehouse operations.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to build structure and discipline in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide visibility of costs, risks, and efficiencies at a strategic level.
  • Resilient, pragmatic, and execution-focused – able to move quickly from strategy to delivery.
