Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for attending to customer premises to carry out servicing, inspections, breakdown support, and repairs to access equipment, including elevating work platforms, lighting towers, and telehandlers.

Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer needs are met within their given region. You will also be responsible for completing all necessary paperwork and inspection forms in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs of equipment, focusing on elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
  • When attending customer sites, make every effort to repair machines on site, minimizing the need for transporting equipment off site.
  • Be available for travel, including overnight accommodation when requested.
  • Complete all required paperwork and inspection forms in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Field Service Coordinator if repairs or services cannot be completed during visit and provide information for quoting purposes.
  • Provide superior customer service.
  • Liaise with technical support, including interpreting manuals where required.
  • Conduct van audits and stock takes.
  • Perform general administrative duties relevant to the role.
  • Generate sales and service leads, collaborating with the team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential; mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge is advantageous.
  • Able to effectively communicate written and verbally.
  • Establish rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Driver's license.
  • Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy skills, including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals, and street signs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications that allow for transferable skills to adequately use our Baseplan system and email.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

The estimated salary range is based on industry standards and location factors.
