Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to customer premises to carry out servicing, inspections, breakdown support, and repairs to access equipment, including elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with previous experience in a similar role. A trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or a related field would be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs of equipment with a focus on elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and lighting towers.
  • Attend to customer sites to repair machines on site, limiting the need to transport equipment off site.
  • Be available to travel, including overnight accommodation, when requested.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by JLG policy, ANZ Standards, and customer/site requirements in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Field Service Coordinator if repairs or services cannot be completed during visit and provide information for quoting purposes.
  • Provide a superior level of customer service.
  • Liaise with technical support, including manual interpretation where required.
  • Conduct van audits and stock takes.
  • Perform general administrative duties relevant to the role, including entering accurate job notes.
  • Generate sales and service leads where possible and collaborate with the team.
  • Maintain personal retail labor utilization rates as per target.
  • Contact or visit customer sites to generate additional service work as required and in consultation with the Field Service Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role – experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical advantageous.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbally.
  • Establish rapport with internal and external customers.
  • Driver's license.
  • Proficient language, literacy, and numeracy, including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals, and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers, and quantities.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade qualification in elevating work platform technology, heavy vehicle, diesel, automotive, auto electrical, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
  • Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications that allow for transferable skills to adequately use our Baseplan system and email Working at Heights License.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary package, we also offer a comprehensive benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
