About the Role

The School Learning Assistant supports students' learning and classroom participation, including those with additional needs.

This role works under the supervision of a teacher to ensure a safe environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individual students inside and outside the classroom to participate in learning and activities.
  • Provide support for students with specific learning needs, such as scribing and reading, and offer feedback to teachers.
  • Reinforce appropriate behavior and encourage student engagement.
  • Help students use classroom technology and perform administrative tasks like record keeping and resource production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment and support students' physical needs and personal care as required.

Requirements

  • A current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) before commencement.
  • A current Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel within the Diocese.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements safely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Cert III in School-Based Education Support or equivalent is preferred but not required.
