Job Description

The School Officer supports student learning and classroom participation, particularly for those with additional needs.

Townsville Catholic Education maintains a secure environment for children. All individuals involved with children or vulnerable adults must undergo working with children checks and background screenings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting students with individual needs in and out of the classroom to participate in learning activities.
  • Supporting students with specific learning requirements, such as scribing and reading, and providing feedback to teachers.
  • Reinforcing positive behavior among students to enhance engagement.
  • Helping students utilize classroom technology.
  • Performing administrative tasks like record keeping and resource creation.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized classroom space.
  • Providing physical support and personal care to students as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencement.
  • Current Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel within the Diocese.
  • Capacity to perform physical duties safely.
