Aerospace Systems Engineer for Reusable Launch Vehicles

This role is a crucial part of our team, responsible for flight control and actuated systems of the New Shepard reusable launch vehicle.
SalaryThe estimated salary range for this position is $89,820-$125,748 per year for on-site WA applicants and $82,335-$115,269 per year for on-site CO applicants. Other locations may have different compensation ranges.
Job DescriptionAs an Aerospace Systems Engineer, you will participate in the entire design cycle, including system architecture, requirements derivation, conceptual and detailed design, system performance modeling, structural analysis, manufacturing and integration support, development testing, and qualification.
You will be responsible for defining component groups, including design, specification, procurement, processing, testing, and discrepancy resolution of specific components. Additionally, you will identify and implement design changes to improve system reliability and reduce operational cost, participate in verification audits of existing components and subsystems, and participate in component and subsystem level testing.
You will apply your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
Required Skills and Qualifications- B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Minimum of two years of experience in aerospace development or similar industries.
- Demonstrated experience in aerospace or related industry in areas such as servo controlled hydraulic actuation, electro-mechanical actuation, mechanisms to deploy, lock, position, or similar application for high-reliability systems, common aerospace structural materials and surface treatments, high-pressure fluid fittings, static seals, and dynamic actuator seals, hydraulic and fluid systems modeling and analysis, and aerospace systems engineering principles and processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs such as NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, Pro/E, etc.
- Experience in analysis including hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
