Environmental Waste Management Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Waste Management Specialist to join our team. In this key position, you will play a vital role in reducing waste and promoting environmental sustainability across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative strategies to minimize environmental impact and optimize waste management processes
- Conduct thorough audits and provide expert advice on compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
- Foster strong relationships with internal departments and operational teams to drive waste reduction initiatives
- Manage the classification of waste in accordance with UK Technical Guidance WM3 and oversee the company's free cycle operation
- Analyze and present data to inform strategic decisions and support business growth
You will work closely with colleagues to achieve our goal of minimizing waste and promoting sustainable practices. The base location for this role will be Didcot Regional Distribution Centre, with opportunities for travel across operational sites.
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in waste and recycling management systems, with chartered status or working towards it
- In-depth knowledge of UK waste legislation and policy
- Familiarity with relevant codes of practice and guidance documents applicable to the waste management industry
