Job Summary

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is seeking a highly skilled Child Protection Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Assessment and Analysis: Gather and analyze information from various sources to identify and mitigate risks related to child protection cases.
  • Case Planning and Management: Develop and implement effective case plans to ensure the safety and stability of children and young people.
  • Critical Enquiry: Conduct thorough investigations into child protection issues, using evidence-based frameworks to identify root causes and potential implications.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, community organizations, and families, to ensure effective case management and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit or visa.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in child protection, social work, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
