
Effective Domestic and Family Violence Intervention Specialist

We offer a dynamic opportunity for an experienced professional to work in domestic and family violence programs, providing intake, counselling, court support, and group work to individuals who have experienced domestic and family violence.
The RoleAs a skilled Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner, you will work across state-funded domestic violence programs, supporting clients who require assistance with safety planning, risk assessment, and navigating complex legal systems.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Completing comprehensive client intakes, including initial risk assessments and tailored safety plans.
- Delivering high-quality domestic and family violence counselling, psychoeducation, and group work sessions.
- Providing critical support to clients attending court in relation to domestic and family violence matters.
- Acting as an advocate on behalf of clients experiencing violence and abuse, promoting their rights and interests.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Science.
- Membership of a professional association such as the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- Current Working with Children Check (QLD) and Police Check within the last three months.
- Valid Australian work rights.
