
Domestic And Family Violence Practitioner

As a Domestic and Family Violence Practitioner, you will provide intensive, trauma-informed and culturally appropriate brief intervention support services through crisis counselling, safety planning, risk assessment, assessment of social support needs, advocacy and referrals to community and government agencies within your network. You will maintain and develop pathways and increase support options for clients.
You will also have the opportunity to work on projects, develop and deliver training packages, and support policy development in Legal Aid Queensland.
**In this role you will**:
- Provide high-quality and trauma-informed crisis counselling, risk assessment, safety planning, information advocacy and referrals to external support services for persons who experience and use domestic and family violence to prevent family and domestic violence experiences.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external domestic and family violence workers, mental health support workers, lawyers and litigation support officers to best support clients presenting with complex and intersecting needs and vulnerabilities and enhance their safety and access to justice in domestic and family violence matters.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
