Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS)

BDVS provides free, confidential support to adults and children affected by domestic and family violence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide crisis response, risk assessments, safety planning, and intake for DFV referrals.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support and advocacy.
  • Facilitate referrals to legal, housing, health, and community services.
  • Represent the service at court, providing information, safe space management, and advocacy.
  • Work collaboratively within an integrated, multi-agency DFV response.
About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time employment opportunity at Level 4 of the SCHADS Award. The role involves working with clients who have experienced domestic and family violence, providing them with support and advocacy services.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and family violence theory, practice, and relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with government and community services.
  • Strong cultural competence and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Proficient in IT systems, data management, and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Knowledge of cross-disciplinary domestic and family violence response models.
