About the Opportunity

The NSW Government is seeking a skilled Senior Health Education Officer to join the Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) team in South Western Sydney. As part of our highly skilled and specialised district-wide mental health team, you will play a key role in leading peer worker service delivery and supporting consumers with complex mental and healthcare needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • • Providing leadership and guidance to peer workers
    • Delivering peer support services, advocacy, and education activities
    • Working collaboratively with individuals and groups to achieve social inclusion and community development goals
    • Supervising and mentoring staff to ensure high-quality service delivery

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience as a senior peer worker
    • Personal experience of having a mental health problem or disorder, and using recovery principles to share your personal experience with consumers
    • Demonstrated knowledge of consumer-led recovery and ability to plan, implement, and evaluate group and peer-led interventions
    • Proven experience in supervising and leading staff, prioritising strategies, and developing policy
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work in challenging environments
