About the Role:

The Governance and Access to Information Professional plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency and accountability within our organization.

This position is responsible for providing guidance, advice, and support to staff on governance matters, including managing policies, delegations, code of conduct, and providing public access to information in accordance with relevant legislation.

  • Utilize your GIPA expertise in one of the largest councils in NSW
  • Work in a supportive and customer-focused team
  • Work/Life Balance - 9-Day fortnight with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available
  • Provide quality customer service and create value for the community

Requirements:

">
  • A certificate III qualification in business administration, recordkeeping, or a related field, or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff and the public
  • Knowledge of local government legislation and the structure, process, and functions of local government
  • Experience interpreting and applying the GIPA Act and relevant PPIP Act in a public sector environment, including preparing documents and correspondence for determinations and reviews
