
Access and Governance Professional

This role is responsible for providing expert guidance, advice and support to staff in relation to Governance matters including the management of policies, delegations, Code of Conduct, Legislative Compliance Registers and providing public access to Council information in accordance with Governance legislation.
The specialist will provide professional customer service to the public and internal staff while providing public access to documents in accordance with relevant legislation. They will utilise their knowledge to make determinations, recommendations and prepare correspondence in relation to document access applications.
This position requires quality customer service and creating value for the community through effective communication and cooperation.
- Utilise your expertise in GIPA (Government Information Public Access) Act in one of the largest Councils in NSW.
- Work in a supportive and customer-focused team environment.
- Enjoy a flexible/hybrid working arrangement with a 9-Day fortnight.
The successful candidate will have a Certificate III qualification in Business Administration, Recordkeeping or related field, or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development.
They will be required to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff and the public, dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
The specialist will need to have knowledge of local government legislation, structure, process and functions, as well as interpreting and applying the GIPA Act and PPIP Act in a public sector environment.
