About the Role

Calvary Central Districts Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse/Midwife to fill the role of Risk, Safety and Quality Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Improvement Program: Assist in and support a hospital-wide quality improvement program that promotes an integrated system of patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management in line with the strategic direction of the hospital.
  • Risk Management: Actively participate in the identification and management of risks within the hospital.
  • Education and Engagement: Deliver education and engage with staff to provide a common understanding of the National Safety and Quality in Health Service (NSQHS) Standards within the hospital.
  • Quality Improvement and Risk Management Activities: Actively participate in quality improvement and risk management activities to support the organization's ongoing preparedness for unannounced assessment by accrediting agencies.
  • Internal Investigations and Audits: Participate and lead internal investigations and audits relating to incidents, complaints, and development of processes.
  • Document Management: Provide administration and coordination support in the management and maintenance of controlled documents across the organization.
Requirements
  • Registration: Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Nurse and/or Midwife.
  • Understanding of NSQHS Standards: A thorough understanding of the NSQHS Standards.
  • Quality Improvement and Risk Management: An understanding of principles of quality improvement and risk management.
  • Investigation and Report Writing: Skills in investigation and report writing with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: High-level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Team Commitment: A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organization.
