We are seeking a Staff Specialist Palliative Care professional with Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) or equivalent to join our team. You will work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing HammondCare's Mission, Motivation, and Mission-in-Action.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to provide high-quality compassionate medical care, as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team. They will also be committed to quality improvement and clinical risk management, actively seeking out improvements to service delivery and initiating change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide demonstrably high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients across Southern NSW LHD
  • Maintain personal professional competence in Palliative Care
  • Work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way
  • Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in Palliative Care as opportunities present
Selection Criteria:
  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation, and Mission-in-Action
  • MBBS or equivalent and registered or eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce HammondCare and Southern NSW LHD values including collaboration, openness, respect, and empowerment
  • Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams to support and optimize their capacity to deliver services
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and clinical risk management; actively seek out improvements to service delivery; initiating change and consulting those affected by the change
  • Demonstrate participation in ongoing professional development and a commitment to education and research
  • Current Drivers Licence valid within NSW
