This is a progression position as per the Job Description.
As a Science Laboratory Technician, you will have responsibility for:
- Preparing and setting up scientific materials and equipment for practical teaching laboratory use.
- Preparing chemical solutions from bulk supplies and manufacturing simple glassware/equipment.
- Working independently in a science laboratory, recognising and safely managing chemical hazards.
- Maintaining scientific teaching resources, classrooms, storerooms, preparation rooms, and laboratories in a clean and safe manner.
- Collecting off-campus scientific materials and field samples and caring for flora and fauna within the science department.
- Maintaining records of material allocation and usage.
A mandatory requirement of this role is:
- Having a relevant diploma qualification.
- Having a current Working with Children Clearance.
The successful applicant will be appointed to a TO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the TO3 level once specific criteria are met or demonstrated.
