This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection and sustainability of Queensland's iconic Great Barrier Reef by supporting the delivery of key science and policy initiatives.As a Senior Scientific Officer, you will play a critical role in implementing the science priorities of the Reef 2050 Water Quality Improvement Plan, including the Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modelling and Reporting Program and the Reef Water Quality Report Card.
You will provide technical and operational support to ensure the effective delivery of these programs, which are vital to improving water quality and safeguarding the Reef's ecosystem.This role involves researching, reviewing, and synthesising complex scientific information to provide evidence-based advice for policy and decision-making.
You will also develop and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, industry representatives, research providers, and government agencies.
