Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Community Outreach Waste Specialist to join our Resource Recovery and Waste Services team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for identifying contamination issues in kerbside recycling and garden organics bins, collecting data, and engaging with the community to improve resource recovery rates across the LGA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspecting kerbside recycling and garden organics bins to identify contamination issues
  • Data collection and analysis to understand contamination patterns
  • Engaging with the community to promote sustainable waste practices and increase resource recovery rates
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and conflict resolution
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy, report writing skills, and strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding of waste and recycling streams, kerbside collection service arrangements, and processing systems
  • Current NSW Class C drivers licence (or motorbike licence)
