Job Description

We are currently seeking two Resource Recovery Engagement Officers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting kerbside recycling and garden organics bins to identify contamination, collecting and analyzing data related to contamination, and engaging with the community to improve resource recovery rates across the local government area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspecting kerbside recycling and garden organics bins to identify contamination
  • Data collection and analysis in relation to contamination of kerbside bins
  • Engaging with the community to improve resource recovery rates
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with customers and resolving problems and conflict
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy, report writing skills and strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an effective team
  • Understanding of bin types, waste and recycling streams, kerbside collection service arrangements, and processing and disposal systems
  • A working knowledge of the causes and problems created by contamination in recycling and organics streams
  • Current NSW Class C drivers license (or motorbike license)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or medical contraindication upon commencement
