Salary: $43-$46.35 per hour + super, plus tax-free NFP salary packaging benefits.

Job Description:

This Community Support Specialist position requires a passionate and empathetic individual who can engage with persons sleeping rough and/or those at risk of becoming homeless. Key responsibilities include conducting initial intakes and assessments, providing client supports such as information and resources, crisis interventions, and advocacy to other services as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum TAFE Certificate IV or currently undertaking tertiary study in welfare or related field.
  • Previous experience providing support to marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to homelessness, including family breakdown, mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
