Strategic Communications Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled strategic communications specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing firm-wide strategic communications, with a focus on media relations and practice group content.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement multi-media content and initiatives, including articles, reports, newsletters, blogs, video, webcasts, podcasts and visual materials.
- Manage media relationships, developing strong relationships and maximising number of media opportunities.
- Prepare draft media releases, news stories, media mentions and various external communications.
- Assist in the delivery of other profile-raising initiatives such as award submissions and corporate sponsorships.
- Support internal communications, identifying relevant stories for sharing within the firm, and re-purposing content for the intranet.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications on key strategic communication priorities.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Creative thinking and experience in developing and implementing multi-media content and initiatives.
- A good understanding of the media and established media relationships is desirable.
- Educated to tertiary degree level.
- Proven experience within a communications role, either agency or in-house.
