About This Role

This is a senior academic position in the field of midwifery, requiring expertise in teaching, research and leadership.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering and coordinating courses within undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery programs, as well as contributing to research in related areas.

They will also play a key role in enhancing our national research profile and contributing to the advancement of the midwifery profession.

About You

We are seeking an experienced academic with a strong research portfolio in midwifery or similar fields.

You will have a passion for teaching, strong communication skills and technical knowledge, allowing you to effectively engage students through various methodologies and deliver strong teaching outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, deliver and coordinate courses within undergraduate and postgraduate midwifery programs
  • Contribute to research in related areas, including publishing research findings
  • Enhance our national research profile
  • Contribute to the advancement of the midwifery profession
Requirements
  • Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Doctoral degree qualification in a relevant health discipline
  • Extensive experience teaching and coordinating undergraduate, preregistration, and postgraduate midwifery programs
  • Extensive clinical midwifery experience across a range of care settings
  • An established portfolio of research that enhances the profile of Midwifery
