Senior Midwifery Educator

We are seeking an experienced and passionate midwifery educator to contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across various midwifery topics.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality, innovative teaching through lectures, tutorials, clinical placements, and contemporary digital strategies.
This includes creating course materials, coordinating placements, and conducting assessments. Ongoing clinical or community-based practice is also required to maintain current skills and knowledge.
The role actively contributes to enhancing teaching and learning through scholarship and may also teach across other programs within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences or other university Colleges.
Building and strengthening partnerships with external stakeholders to improve teaching, learning, or research outcomes is also vital.
The incumbent will provide informal leadership by supporting academic staff, coordinating workflows, and ensuring high standards aligned with university policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching in midwifery topics.
- Coordinate placements and create course materials.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations.
- Contribute to scholarship and educational innovation.
- Provide informal leadership and support academic staff.
- A doctorate in a relevant field or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in midwifery.
- Registration with AHPRA as a midwife, with current hands-on clinical experience.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary midwifery education practices.
- Excellent tertiary-level teaching skills, including simulation and clinical settings.
- Experience in placement coordination and curriculum review.
The successful candidate will be committed to progressing Indigenous advancement in education, research, employment, and wellbeing.
A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check are requirements of this position.
Staff working in a healthcare setting are strongly recommended to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
