
Energy Storage Sales Executive

As a global energy storage leader, we unlock more efficient and optimized power systems through our suite of Quantum energy storage systems. We solve fundamental industry-wide safety challenges and monitor, control, and optimize energy assets at both site and portfolio levels with our advanced software, GEMS.
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Business Development Manager to join our dynamic, fast-paced sales team in Australia. This permanent position will be based in Sydney.
Role:
- Originate new business opportunities and develop a strong pipeline of energy storage projects.
- Lead the project sales team and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Secure deal quality by ensuring requirements are understood and accounted for with correct pricing strategies and risk management.
- Lead contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with our contract policies and guidelines.
- Promote our strategic objectives and value-based selling.
- Develop successful partnerships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Accountable for strategy and account planning for assigned customers.
- Represent the voice of customers to internal stakeholders.
- Develop a solid understanding of relevant local legislation and the requirements for doing business in the renewable energy sector.
- Manage, follow up, and report progress by keeping CRM updated.
- Ensure sales projects are smoothly transitioned to the project delivery team.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating and securing utility-scale battery energy storage projects.
- Understanding of the Australian electricity market and the business environment.
- Minimum five years of experience in a project sales environment.
- Consultative selling skills, ability to understand customer needs and develop a winning solution.
- Ability to influence senior level stakeholders in utilities, IPPs or large energy corporates.
- Proficiency in energy storage business, technology, and products, and commercial understanding of energy storage contracts.
- Experience and understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning process of utility-scale assets.
- Fluency in English.
- Master or Bachelor level education in Engineering, Business, or Economics.
- Willing and able to travel at short notice and spend time with customers.
- Boundaryless mindset, happy to challenge status quo and change the game. Passion for innovation, and ability to adapt to fast changing market demands and simplify complexity to actionable plans.
- Superior skills in communication and negotiation.
- Appreciates diversity and is able to build psychological safety and inclusion to the organisation.
Success will be measured by successful project sales (order intake and margin), customer satisfaction, and cross-functional collaboration.
