Vinnies Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager - Special Works to provide leadership and support to our Special Works teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring highly effective and targeted support programs are in place, with a focus on continuous improvement.

About the Role:

The Senior Operations Manager - Special Works will lead, manage, and inspire Special Works teams, providing clear direction and support to help them achieve their objectives. Key responsibilities include maintaining oversight of the department, assuming responsibility for the smooth running of day-to-day operations, and promoting a culture of risk management among your teams.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead, manage, and inspire Special Works teams to achieve their objectives
  • Maintain oversight of the department and assume responsibility for day-to-day operations
  • Promote a culture of risk management among your teams
  • Engage with staff and volunteers to address and resolve safety incidents
About You:

We're looking for someone with a strong risk awareness mindset, who can actively identify and evaluate hazards and incidents, and provide recommendations for effective mitigation strategies. You should have experience in volunteer recruitment, training, and support, and be able to foster an engaged community. Your team management skills should create a collaborative environment, and your excellent communication abilities should build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in non-profit management, with a focus on volunteer recruitment, training, and support
  • Experience in managing teams and working with volunteers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills
