**Job Summary**

This role will be responsible for performing complex work health and safety work within an integrated workforce. The successful candidate will have a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Organising workflow and making independent decisions relating to work health and safety responsibilities.
  • Interpreting and providing advice on legislation, policy and procedures related to work health and safety.
  • Undertaking specialist research and analysis, conducting reviews, assessments, investigations and procedural, clerical and administrative support work.
  • Coordinating and contributing to the work of a team consistent with a work plan, providing advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
  • Engaging and communicating with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.

**Requirements**

  • Strong skills and experience in researching and analysing activities to identify and address work health and safety risks to capability.
  • Ability to contribute to implementation and continuous improvement of work health and safety management systems in accordance with legislation and Defence policies.
  • High level planning, organising and prioritising skills, managing complex work packages in compressed timeframes.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management, building/maintaining positive stakeholder relationships.

**About the Role**

This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 per annum, plus superannuation and other benefits. The successful candidate will also be required to have or obtain a Negative Vetting level 1 security clearance before commencing in the role.
