About the Project

We're building a new $300M+ greenfield water treatment plant and associated infrastructure in Cairns and the surrounding regions.

  • Draper Road water treatment plant
  • Clear water reservoir
  • All-weather access road
  • Upgrade to the existing Behana Creek intake and pipeline
  • Treated water delivery main works
  • Reticulation main works
  • New power, telecommunications, and data services

About the Role

As a Safety Advisor, you will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide support and coordination of safety practices, systems, and procedures on the Draper WTP project in Cairns.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring compliance with the safety systems and procedures within the workplace
  • Implementing safety programs for project employees
  • Assisting with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
  • Assisting with conducting incident and accident investigations
  • Conducting safety inspections and monitoring work areas

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Safety Lead Auditor qualification
  • Construction safety management experience (3+ years)
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing, and performing compliance inspections
