Role Overview:

NRC is seeking an experienced Operational Integration Lead to oversee the Digital Systems Program (DSP) for our client, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). Since 2018, we have partnered with TfNSW's Digital Systems Program, integrating technical and operational functions to implement an ETCS L2 railway for TfNSW's heavy rail network.

The Operational Integration Lead will manage the Operational Readiness team for the System Integrator, ensuring the effective development, delivery, and acceptance of operational system modifications necessary for the successful implementation of Digital Systems for TfNSW.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing Operational Readiness processes throughout a program lifecycle and demonstrate the ability to apply their technical knowledge in a consultancy setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various directorates within TfNSW/Sydney Trains (DSBI) and their stakeholders to establish the Operational Readiness Strategy, tools, and methodologies for the program.
  • Assist in creating local Directorate Operational Readiness Lists for the Digital Systems program through workshops, interviews, and leveraging prior experience with similar transitions.
  • Coordinate the generation and secure storage of evidence systems to facilitate a seamless transition into operational service for newly installed digital systems.
  • Provide expert guidance and support in interpreting the implications of proposed technical requirements for compliance on operations.
  • Aid in compiling necessary operational changes to support the rollout of digital systems.
  • Offer technical expertise for the implementation of operational specifications and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant procedural and legislative requirements for efficient, effective, and safe operations.
  • Maintain a collaborative approach with the client and all key stakeholders at all times.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in the railway sector, particularly in implementing significant operational changes.
  • Proven track record in managing and producing Operational Readiness reports across complex, multidisciplinary programs.
  • Experience in compiling and organizing evidence files and stage-gate documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in IT, including MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in delivering change, compliance, and/or complex projects.
  • Formal qualifications in risk and/or project management.
  • Ability to consolidate various data sources into a single log for reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge or experience within the Australian Rail Industry.
