Workplace Safety Strategist

About the Role:
  • This position involves leading transformative harm prevention strategies that combine regulatory rigour with practical, risk-based interventions.
  • You will collaborate with industry leaders and government partners to design and deliver initiatives that drive real behavioural change.
  • Provide expert advice on emerging risks and critical safety matters to senior executives and ministers.
  • Champion innovation in regulatory practice, leveraging data and intelligence to target high-risk sectors and emerging hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement specialist compliance programs that integrate regulatory requirements with proactive, risk-based approaches.
  2. Liaise with stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaborative initiatives that promote workplace safety.
  3. Offer strategic guidance on risk management frameworks and data-driven decision-making to inform organisational policies.
  4. Lead complex programmes and teams in high-stakes environments, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in regulatory or compliance environments, preferably with a focus on harm prevention or public safety.
  • Deep understanding of risk management frameworks and data-driven decision-making principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across government, industry, and community sectors.
  • Experience managing complex programmes and teams in high-pressure settings.
