Job Title: Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive individual to join our team as a Workplace Health and Safety Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing immediate support to injured workers, developing tailored Return to Work Plans, and managing workers' compensation claims from start to finish.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate care and support for workplace injuries and illnesses
  • Develop and manage Return to Work Plans in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Oversee the end-to-end injury management process, including workers' compensation claims
  • Deliver expert advice on injury prevention and early intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with WHS teams to identify hazards and improve occupational health
  • Maintain accurate records and analyse injury data to inform future strategies
  • Support people leaders in building their capability to manage injured workers effectively
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualifications: Return to Work Coordinator qualifications and current unrestricted membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC/RCAA, or AASW)
  • Injury Management Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing workers' compensation claims, developing Return to Work plans, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders to support safe and sustainable return to work outcomes
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant regulatory and legislative frameworks, with the ability to educate others and ensure compliance at the local level
  • Strategic Collaboration: Proven ability to align injury management strategies with broader organisational goals, working effectively across teams and disciplines
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach to building relationships and influencing outcomes
  • Time Management: Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely results
  • Stakeholder Engagement: A collaborative mindset and the ability to foster strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams to drive positive return to work outcomes
