We are seeking an experienced Workplace Safety Expert to join our organization. This full-time position will be responsible for coordinating and implementing work health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

The organization operates across 6 sites, with approximately 130 employees in workshop-based roles. We pride ourselves on our safety record and commitment to ensuring everyone goes home safely from work.

The Workplace Safety Expert will oversee all 6 sites, with the role based at one of our main locations. A company vehicle will be provided for travel between sites as needed.

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on individual who is willing to collaborate with industry associations and external advisors to achieve safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring WHS policies, procedures, and systems to promote a safe working environment
  • Conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and legislation
  • Providing WHS training and education to employees, including toolbox meetings
  • Investigating and reporting workplace incidents and near-misses, and recommending corrective actions
  • Maintaining WHS records and preparing reports for management
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and industry bodies to meet legislative requirements
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in WHS coordination or management, preferably within the motor body industry
  • Solid understanding of relevant WHS legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
