About the Role:

This position presents an excellent opportunity to develop a rewarding career in training and development. As a Field Officer, you will play a key role in growing our Apprenticeship program by recruiting new host trainers and apprentices, managing caseloads, and providing continuous support from commencement through to completion.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment of new host trainers and apprentices
  • Maintenance of a rigid mentoring schedule for all visits to host trainers and apprentices
  • Monitoring of host trainers' ability/capacity to train apprentices in order to meet established training programs and standards
  • Conducting workplace performance assessments of all apprentices
  • Conducting counselling interviews and ensuring disciplinary standards and procedures are met when necessary
  • Arranging for workplace relocation and/or transfer of apprentices as when necessary
  • Providing advice to host trainers, apprentices regarding their rights and obligations, and their legal and contractual requirements as related to training agreements
  • Assisting with the promotion of our Apprenticeship program at events and information nights
  • Promoting our Apprenticeship program to potential host trainers in order to initiate application and participation in the scheme
  • Conducting WHS/OH&S information sessions to educate host trainers and apprentices in their rights and obligations under the WHS/OH&S Legislation

About You:

We are seeking an individual with strong relationship building, business development, and presentation skills, as well as a high level of interpersonal skills and personal presentation. A trade qualification in the building industry or Training qualifications would be highly regarded but not essential.

  • Familiarity with:
  • The Australian Apprenticeship system (highly desirable)
  • Apprentice mentoring experience (highly regarded)
  • Business development and presentation techniques
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Clerical duties and computer skills including database use
  • WHS/OH&S Legislation
