About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor to contribute to shaping the future of Workforce Development. This is a pivotal opportunity for a dynamic and driven professional to become a key member of our People and Culture team.

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide expert guidance on human resources and employee relations matters to senior managers and stakeholders across the region. You will also lead impactful projects that align with our strategic goals, helping to shape a progressive and people-focused workplace.

This role reports to the Manager, Human Resources (Workforce) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a forward-thinking organisation committed to excellence in vocational education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change by promoting and modelling established values.
  • Provide timely support and advice on employee relations issues, human resource administration, employee complaints, ethical behaviour, performance management, investigations, mediations and related processes.
  • Ensure compliance to all policy and statutory requirements with respect to employee relations and human resource management by implementing and maintaining reporting mechanisms that monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Prepare correspondence, including briefing materials and reports, for the General Manager and other senior staff on issues related to workforce relations.
  • Establish networks and liaise with clients, officers from other agencies, unions and other external bodies to promote and monitor contemporary human resource management issues.
  • Undertake ongoing research and analysis of contemporary human resource practices and policies occurring at a whole of government level, with a specific focus on employee relations.
  • Liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the services provided by the People and Culture team.
  • Prepare recommendations, strategies and performance indicators to facilitate the implementation of project outcomes.

  • Proven ability to provide high-level advice and to develop operational strategies for the delivery of quality human resource management services.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivery of contemporary human resource services particularly relating to workforce relations.
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills including the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent consultative and written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders.
