Nurse Unit Manager

The NSW Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient services in relation to all aspects of care delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage the unit, including monitoring goods and services, equipment, maintenance, and expenditure.
- Lead and manage staff, including direction, coordination, and supervision.
- Foster an atmosphere conducive to open communication, problem solving, and team building.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement within the ward/unit.
- Ensure the human, physical, and financial resources of the ward/unit are managed to deliver safe and efficient healthcare within available resources.
- Lead a nursing team within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote the recovery model and lead with resilience.
- Deliver and oversee a variety of group and individual interventions to facilitate skills development, psychological understanding, social engagement, and capacity building in clients affected by mental illness.
- Utilize strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills relevant to the role responsibilities.
- Apply computer literacy and ability to use a variety of computer applications.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Proven operational and clinical management knowledge and skills in a relevant setting.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical, and financial resources of the ward/unit are managed to deliver safe and efficient healthcare within available resources.
- Demonstrated ability to function within and lead a nursing team within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Advanced understanding of the stages of mental illness.
