Pastoral Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pastoral Care Specialist to join our team.

As a Pastoral Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering relationship-based care that seeks to understand and value every individual. You will work closely with staff and volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs of residents and their families.

You will be responsible for utilising your pastoral expertise to coach staff and volunteers, supporting the emotional and spiritual needs of residents and their families, and developing professionally through onsite orientation and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate will have strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement, Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience, and demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise and share pastoral expertise to coach staff and volunteers
  • Support the emotional and spiritual needs of residents and their families
  • Develop professionally through onsite orientation and ongoing support

Requirements:

  • Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement
  • Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience
  • Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need
  • Highly developed communication skills, including listening, compassion, and empathy
  • Experience leading and facilitating groups
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
