Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Timber Category Manager to lead the optimisation of our timber procurement strategy and supply chain across all Australasian operations with 22 manufacturing sites consuming timber.

This strategic position oversees sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management for timber and timber-related products. The role requires driving continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and reliable availability of timber inputs for our manufacturing and sales functions.

The role can be based at any of our sites located in Sydney or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective timber procurement strategies to meet business needs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customs authorities.
  • Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Experience in management of third party carriers, international freight, and customs processes.
  • Skilled negotiator with strong analytical capability and commercial acumen.
  • Natural leadership skills with high level of communication skills and ability to influence.
