Family Violence Specialist Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supervising a team from various services, including Salvation Army staff
  • Managing staffing levels and rosters
  • Monitoring team performance against key performance indicators
  • Coordinating case work and ensuring proper case management frameworks
  • Collaborating with Victoria Police, Child Protection, and other stakeholders
  • Representing our organization in external networks and forums
  • Identifying professional development opportunities for staff
  • Working with other Support and Safety Hub Team Leaders across organizations

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of family violence and its impact on women and children
  • Knowledge of feminist frameworks in family violence practice
  • Leadership experience in family violence or related sectors, providing guidance and supervision
  • Skilled in leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing risks
  • Proven ability to lead in innovation, manage competing demands, and solve problems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with respect for diversity
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent fields is essential
