Overview of Rosebery Mine
Located in Tasmania, Australia, Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine that has been integral to the local community since 1936. It stands as one of Tasmania's largest and longest-operating underground mines, producing zinc, copper, lead concentrates, and gold doré.
With a workforce of approximately 500, Rosebery Mine is deeply embedded in the community, engaging a variety of local businesses and contributing to the economic vitality of the West Coast of Tasmania.
MMG also maintains an office in Burnie, allowing employees the flexibility to work from there when not required on-site.

Role of Human Resource Business Partner
We are seeking a talented Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team at Rosebery operations.
In this capacity, the HRBP will comprehend and support the operational framework while delivering practical guidance aligned with MMG's People Policy, Standards, Code of Conduct, and relevant legislation.
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HRBP will act as a strategic ally to Rosebery Mine, providing comprehensive HR support and facilitating the implementation of HR initiatives that align with the mine's objectives. The HRBP will collaborate closely with management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, boost morale, increase productivity, and retain talent.
This position operates on a 5/2:4/3 roster, with options for residential arrangements in Rosebery or DIDO from any location in Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Offer operational HR and employee relations guidance on sourcing strategies, employment terms, and compliance with employment legislation and various industrial instruments/awards.
- Coach leaders on change management, cultural initiatives, and communication strategies.
- Engage actively with Operations and Functional Leadership Teams at Rosebery to leverage systems and processes that enhance workforce productivity.
- Support leaders in managing employee grievances and disciplinary matters in accordance with MMG standards and legal requirements.
- Assist line management throughout the performance management cycle, including setting SMART objectives, providing resources, and evaluating performance development.
- Help maintain accurate employee records.
- Advise and support managers, supervisors, and employees regarding MMG's remuneration principles.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- Tertiary qualification in HR/ER/IR or a related business field (preferred).
- Experience as an HR Business Partner in a site-based role within the mining sector.
- Proficiency in interpreting and negotiating Enterprise Agreements.
- Experience collaborating with unions and other third-party organizations.
- Strong interpersonal and management skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and motivate professional teams to achieve operational and business objectives.
- High-level conceptual and analytical abilities, with a talent for identifying and implementing strategic improvements.
- Understanding of the Industrial Relations framework and applicable legislation.
