The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading technical and engineering workforce planning, allocating resources to bids, projects, and products within the domain.

The Senior Director of Engineering Operations will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing the Make-Team-Buy strategy in collaboration with Procurement and obtaining approval from Hd Capability, Technical and Engineering
  • Managing WBS/PBS, cost estimates, and maintaining reference cost data from previous projects
  • Leading Decision Management and acting as Engineering Environment Manager with IS/IT collaboration
  • Preparing decisions for approval by Hd Capability, Technical and Engineering

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Engineering Capability Management and budget oversight for large domains, preferably in defence or industrial sectors. They will also possess excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and guide teams in complex environments.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in leading engineering workforce planning and resource allocation for bids, projects, and products in large Matrix-style organisations
  • A relevant bachelor's degree and a proven network within the maritime industry would be advantageous
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence clearance
  • Ability to travel as needed

The estimated salary for this role is between $180,000 and $220,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
