About The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team at The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne. This is a unique opportunity to join a world-renowned luxury hotel brand and be part of a dynamic team that delivers exceptional guest experiences.

Job Summary

The Senior Engineering Manager will oversee all engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and asset protection across the property. This role will lead the maintenance of the building, grounds, and physical plant while managing the department's budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance programs, and energy conservation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, electrical systems, and life safety equipment, ensuring optimal performance and luxury-level service.
  • Lead and ensure the effective operation of all engineering systems, guaranteeing that all equipment operates at peak efficiency, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Manage the engineering department's budget, including capital expenditures, operational costs, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation projects.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of the facility's condition and make recommendations for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to maintain the property's luxurious standards.
  • Supervise day-to-day engineering operations in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the property.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, or a related professional area, with technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • High school diploma or GED; or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major.
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality setting is preferred.
