Plant Operations Director

As Plant Operations Director with Pact Packaging, you will oversee the engineering function and drive best practice and continuous improvement initiatives to maximize efficiencies and improve operational performance.

You will utilize your well-developed communication skills to foster a proactive safe work culture and high employee morale.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the operation and maintenance of all industrial plant and equipment, installations, and design upgrades.
  • Assisting with long-term capital planning and implementing capital projects.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, and performance management to maintain plant production capability and meet demand output requirements.
  • Managing engineering improvement initiatives and priorities aligned with overall business and site objectives.
  • Driving and leading efforts for continuous improvement to engineering and production efficiencies.
  • Managing the engineering department's Safety, Health & Environment program, including regular toolbox meetings.
  • Enhancing and expanding the site's preventative maintenance program, coordinating all contractor support, services, and maintenance activities.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and a 'Toward Zero Harm' mindset.
  • An engineering degree or trade qualification, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and change management.
  • Outstanding communication skills and facilitation, coaching, and development abilities.
  • Formal training or working experience in Lean manufacturing techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to balance production, safety, environment, and resources.
  • Results-driven and track record of cost improvement delivery.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to lead effectively in a team environment.
